What Empowered Leadership Means: A Chat with Snezana Hunziker

With the launch of our empowered leadership program, we asked our Label Production Manager, Snezana Hunziker, to share what excites her most about the months ahead:

Can you briefly describe what the new leadership program is about?

S: The program is about giving more autonomy to make decisions without having to go through the entire system. This makes us faster, strengthens trust in our expertise, and brings us closer to our colleagues. Instead of working in strict hierarchies, we act more directly with people, grow together, and learn from one another. Ultimately, this leadership program helps us satisfy clients more quickly with direct solutions.

What skills or mindsets are important for leaders to develop in this program?

S: The most important skill is decisiveness. Sometimes situations are complex, but as leaders we need to make strong decisions without freezing. In the past, if we weren’t sure, we would simply ask the next manager, eventually our CEO. Now we are learning to take responsibility and trust our judgment.

How do you imagine empowered leadership will shape collaboration across departments?

S: I believe it will strengthen the entire company. By sharing knowledge, goals, and ideas across departments, we can help each other and cross-collaborate. This kind of openness allows us to grow together and achieve more.

What challenges do you anticipate?

S: We’ve only just started, so challenges haven’t really shown up yet. I think one of the biggest challenges will be learning how to guide peers ensuring things get done.

What future successes do you hope to celebrate as the program matures?

S: I hope to see more new ideas, new products, and projects that are driven by the team itself. Empowered leadership gives us the freedom to decide faster and contribute added value. It also helps relieve pressure from upper management, since experts like us can take on responsibility and support them with decision-making.

Behind the Scenes

To mark the official launch of our new internal management system, we brought together our management and operations teams for a collaborative kickoff event. The day focused on reimagining our company structure through interconnected circles, each representing a key area of responsibility and operation. We introduced the new approach, aligned on its purpose, and engaged in interactive activities including goal-setting brainstorms for each circle.

 

Beyond strategy, we also made space for connection: we shared a delicious team lunch, raised a toast to our collective future, and celebrated the beginning of a more inclusive, dynamic way of working. This event set the tone for a workplace where leadership is shared, voices are heard, and everyone contributes to shaping the path forward.
