High Precision Laser Cutting and Welding
Laser cutting is a technology we apply for high precision cutting of nickel shims. The shims can be cut to any size or shape with a 0.001 mm cutting accuracy. It is used for cutting tools to be perfectly fitted for a specific process. In addition, we laser technology to weld perfectly cut nickel shims together, creating a 120 um seam line. At 3D AG, laser cutting and welding is our process to fine tune high precision tools, cutting to precise sizes, welding to larger surfaces or welding to sleeves.

Processes have exact specifications for replication tools. If they are mounted, inserted, clipped, slided or adhered, they need to be manufactured to a precise size and shape, and this within specifications and tolerances. We also have the ability to laser cut precise mounting holes, allowing you to shape and fit your customized tool.

Laser Welding to Insert or Mounting Tool
Stamping tools often need a very heavy and rigid base, yet they need to carry a delicate structure.
At 3D AG, we have developed a process to weld thin nickel shims with the micro or nanostructure onto a rigid base of steel or other materials. This technology delivers a precise and stable tool for customized processing.
Upscaling: Laser Welding Services to Create Larger Structured Surface Areas
At 3D AG we have specialized in UV step-and-repeat imprinting of structures to create larger surfaces. Sometimes, this technique is not perfectly suitable, or other factors come into play. For such cases we offer laser welding of multiple shims to a larger surface area for upscaling.Â
