- About the event:
- Event: Strategic Focus Areas (SFA) Advanced Manufacturing 2025
- Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland
- Date: 18th of February 2025
- About:
- At the Annual Review Meetings, the Steering Committee of the Strategic Focus Area Advanced Manufacturing (SFA-AM) review the progress and results of the research projects as well as the measures taken by the participating institutions of the ETH Domain to build up capacity and to establish new technology platforms in the field of advanced manufacturing.
Highly Scaled Gravure Printing (SCALAR)
SCALAR advances gravure printing by bridging the gap between lab-scale and industrial speeds, enabling high-resolution, high-speed printing. The project drives innovation in instrumentation, process control, cylinder design, and ink formulation, reinforcing Switzerland’s leadership in the field.
- Develop a gravure printing theory for nanoparticle and 2D materials
- Design a family of functional gravure printing inks
- Develop a novel process for gravure cylinder engraving to meet the requirements of high precision printing
- Fine tune hardware and improve software of the available gravure printing unit
