3D AG’s History
3D AG was co-founded in 1989 by Dr. David L.Greenaway † and a Swiss family office, as a technology center for holographic structures. The physicist and scientist Dr. Greenaway engaged in the fundamental research of holographic procedures for years. He played a leading role in the development and construction of the first holographic production facilities, finally allowing the mass production of the optical phenomenon holography.
As a forerunner in the field, 3D AG dominated holographic origination, creating countless high security holograms for banknotes and ID cards. As a holography specialist, 3D AG delivered and developed security effects for major companies worldwide. Furthermore, hundreds of endless holographic patterns, many of which are still used all over the world today, and thousands of security brand holograms have been created by 3D AG’s experts.
Constant research has bred a whole palette of products and new optical security features to satisfy different needs. 3D AG has always also delivered semi-finished products to supply and work with each step of the value chain.
Over the years 3D AG has broadened its view and engaged into the perfection of processing nano and microstructures in different application fields further than holography. We have built various galvanic baths and mastered unique techniques of replication. 3D AG’s experts have explored and acquired knowledge of various functional surfaces, diving into the vast world of micro- and nanotechnology. Researching these different structures and the exposure to many new base materials and components has allowed us to consult our customers better. Our goal is to constantly improve our science, to become the best partner we can be.
